If you're looking for a way to sell lots of products and find new customers and team members in one day, there's nothing like a vendor event.
Holiday Festivals, farmer's markets, First Fridays--picture yourself with a table, signage, and a stream of people walking by, ready to shop.
On our team, we have Reps who do BIG events every year and sell thousands of dollars worth of product in a weekend. And, though that day-of money is profitable, the potential for future sales is even more exciting.
Here, follow-up is key. You need a way to get people's contact info quickly and easily. Here are some resources to help:
Create A Form
You are going to be super busy during the event so you need a way for others to get their info to you.
Pro Tip: Make a beautiful basket full of eye-catching products that you will raffle off after the event. Anyone who fills out your form will be entered.
While I have used paper cards for years that people would fill out and drop in a bowl, if you want that info to be READABLE, there's a better way.
You can actually create a digital form for people to fill out. They will use their own phone, pull up the form, and submit. Later, you will be able to pull up the results...and read them.
If you have a Google account, you can start there. (If not, go to sheets.google.com)
log into your Google account on a computer.
Click on the menu in the top right corner.
Click on Sheets.
4. Click on the menu in the top left corner.
5. Click on Forms.
6. Click on Blank to start.
From there, you can customize your form to get contact info and find out what they are interested in so you'll be able to follow up with targeted communications.
Here's an example of a Form I created and the types of questions I ask.
Now that you've got your form, you just need the link so you can share it.
Find the share link:
Click on the purple "Share" button in the top right corner.
Next to "Share via," click on the link icon.
Copy the link.
Create a QR Code
Now that we have our link to our form, we need a way for folks to pull it up easily while at the event.
Remember, if it isn't quick and easy, they won't do it. And typing in a URL is more work than most have patience for on a good day. At an exciting, fast paced event? Forget it.
A QR code solves this problem. They just point the camera on their phone at the code and it will pull up the site.
To turn a link into a QR code, we need a QR code generator. There are lots of sites that do this for free. I use qr-code-generator.com
Go to qr-code-generator.com.
Paste your link where it says "Enter your website or text."
Click "Generate QR code."
Download or screenshot the image.
Make your sign
Print that baby out!
Add words to get people excited like, "Enter the Giveaway!"
Frame it so it stands up on the table on your event.
After the Event
Now the fun really starts! You can get all of the contact info you collected and work it!
Go back to the google form you created.
Click on "Responses" at the top
You can download your info in an Excel file or view it on the site.
